History
ASF Netherlands was founded in 1998 by a group of Dutch lawyers, working in the field of the rule of law. The direct cause for its foundation was a call of attention from a group of Surinamese lawyers to the miserable situation of under age delinquents in Suriname. This resulted to both the founding of ASF Netherlands in September 1998 and, after a feasibility study, the project in Suriname.
ASF Netherlands is a member of the worldwide organization ASF Monde, as are other countries, such as Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Mali, Sweden and Switzerland.
